Larry King Discusses Polygamist Raid in Texas
Larry King discussed the recent raid on a polygamist colony in Texas last week. Over 400 female children between the age of 7 to 18 were taken from the “Ranch” and placed in state custody.
Larry King talked to several experts who claim that there are many cases of child abuse and the only way they could have dealt with the situation was to remove all of the potentially abused young females. Court began today that was said to be chaotic. hundreds of lawyers representing every child as well as all of the children’s parents were present for the openings.

It is still uncertain why all of the children were taken out of the care of their mothers. It would have been more beneficial to just take all of the men and deal with them as sex offenders. While only some men are in custody the charges being laid include rape, bigamy, incest, polygamy, child labour, etc…
Places like Colorado and Utah need to step it up. If Texas can stand up for the protection of children against the illegal practice of polygamy than so can they. It would just take some effort on their part.

I think if these children were abused and their MOTHERS were aware; then taking them out of the home was the best thing to do. If the men were taken in custody- which I do feel they need to burn!- then they would still be with the mothers that gave these men permisson to hurt their children and it would have happen again. I do believe that in times like this, the state was the only hope for these young women to have a healthly childhood.
