Letterman to Personally Pay Writers Salaries
David Letterman has made the commitment to pay his writers salaries through to the end of the year. With the writers strike continuing, people are unsure when the next time they will be paid or if they will even have a job to come back to. The NBC have stated that they will fire all of their writers if a resolution is not agreed upon soon.
With the new seasons starting this strike could not have come at a worse time. I suppose that was the intention, cause it sure has brought the issue to light. Letterman understands that without talented writers his show could flop. Paying their salaries to earn their loyalty is an investment he won’t regret.
